Passport Fees

From 1 July 2015 passport applications lodged overseas will incur an additional overseas application fee (overseas surcharge). The additional fee for adult (including senior) applications will be A$138 and for child applications will be A$67. The fee will not apply to emergency passport applications. Fees are set in Australian dollars and converted into Malaysian Ringgit. The exchange rate is reviewed monthly.

Payments methods

1. In person at Australian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur

Applications lodged in person at the Australian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, payments for passports and notarial services can be paid by credit/debit card (Visa or MasterCard only). We do not accept cash, American Express or personal cheques.

2. In person at Australian Honorary Consul offices & mailed in application

i) Applications lodged at our Honorary Consul offices in Kuching, Kota Kinabalu and Penang, only bank draft payments are accepted. Bank drafts should be made payable to the "AUSTRALIAN HIGH COMMISSION". Cash or personal cheques are not accepted.

ii) You can complete a credit card payment authorisation form HERE. For credit card payment using authorisation form, fees are charged in Australian Dollars only.

Note: Cards issued outside of Australia, your bank may charge international transaction or currency conversion fees. Check with your bank if you have questions regarding these fees.

Once we receive your documents, we will charge your credit card. The processing time will start from this day. Please note incomplete applications will cause delays.
