AEI-JPA-recognition of qualifications from overseas universities or inst of higher learning


 

RECOGNITION OF QUALIFICATIONS FROM OVERSEAS UNIVERSITIES OR INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING

  1. For recognition of Arts & Social Sciences and General Science qualifications/programmes from institutions of higher learning/universities in the United Kingdom and Australia, the Government of Malaysia has adopted/accepted the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) and the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) lists. 

  2. The criteria used for recognition of qualifications/programmes from both countries are as follows:
    (i) Recognition is provided only for Arts & Social Sciences and General Science qualifications/programmes;
    (ii) Recognition is provided for full-time Bachelor’s Degree programmes that are conducted on campus;
    (iii) Recognition is not provided for Double Degrees and All Other Streams Degree programmes;
    (iv) For professional qualifications/programmes, recognition will be based on accreditation from the relevant professional body in Malaysia. 

  3. For recognition of Bachelor’s Degree in Education from universities in the United States, the Government of Malaysia adopts/accepts the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) list effective from 14th February 2008. Recognition are for full-time programmes conducted on campus.
