Nominations sought for Australia-Malaysia Alumni Awards 2013

The fourth annual Australia-Malaysia Alumni Awards will be presented in Kuala Lumpur on 22 November 2013. Established in 2010, the awards recognise the successes of Malaysian graduates of Australian education institutions. Nominations are now open and will close on Monday, 14 October 2013.

Australian education institutions or their Malaysian alumni chapters are encouraged to nominate distinguished alumni for the awards, which will be presented at the Malaysian Australian Alumni Council (MAAC) gala dinner in Kuala Lumpur on 22 November.

This year there will be four categories in the Australia-Malaysia Alumni Awards:

1) Australian Education Achievement Award 2013 – graduate who has succeeded in their chosen field and has gone on to make a significant contribution to the Malaysian, Australian or broader global community

2) Young Entrepreneur Award 2013 – graduate under the age of 35, who has demonstrated initiative and succeeded in their chosen field through outstanding application of talent, managerial skills and enterprise

3) Australian University Alumni Chapter Award 2013 – graduate who has played a significant role as an ambassador of their alma mater in Malaysia

4) Endeavour Alumni Recognition Award 2013 – graduate of the Australia Awards program or a current recipient of an Australian Award who has excelled in their professional endeavours or made a significant contribution to society or the Malaysia-Australia relationship

Australia has been the preferred study destination for Malaysian students for more than five decades. More than 300,000 Malaysians have graduated from an Australian education institution and these awards seek to recognise the achievements of successful or distinguished alumni.

To nominate a candidate, please complete the alumni awards nomination form by 14 October and submit to the MAAC.
