2012 ANZAC Day Commemorative Service in Kuala Lumpur

The Australian Deputy High Commissioner, Mrs Jane Duke, will host the 2012 Commemorative ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Military Annex of Cheras Road Christian Cemetery, Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday 25 April 2012. The Service is open to members of the public and those attending are requested to be assembled by 6:15am for the service to commence at 6:30am.

It has become a custom each year on this day for the Governments and people of both Australia and New Zealand to commemorate their dead of all wars. ANZAC Day marks the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.

Dress for the occasion will be smart casual with medals (if applicable) or ceremonial uniform with medals for military members.

Guests are advised to apply mosquito repellent and carry a small torch. Candles will be provided for the service.

Following the service, a traditional ‘gunfire breakfast’ will be served in the Cheras Cemetery car park (upper level). Guests are requested to park in the lower level car park.
